I have been a DJ since 1983, carrying out well over 2,750 functions in that time, including England Rugby World Cup star Will Greenwood’s wedding reception and warming up for Scouting For Girls with a crowd of 16,500 at one of Europe’s biggest free music festivals!
I have also worked with Busted, Blue, The Human League, Gareth Gates, Atomic Kitten, M People's Heather Small, Lemar, Aswad, Beverley Knight, Hayseed Dixie, Jaki Graham, The Wanted, Katrina and the Waves, Bucks Fizz, The Christians, The Primitives, Stavros Flatley and The Chippendoubles from Britain's Got Talent, Deacon Blue, Soul II Soul, The Selector, ABC, The Commitments, The Buzzcocks, The Drifters, Ian St. John, Tom O’Connor, Frank Carson and Phil & Grant Mitchell, Paul Zerdin and Men In Coats.
The disco will be an important part of your celebration, large or small, and my job will be to ensure that the music, volume and lights will match the function to make it a memorable occasion.
Of course, the disco has a variety of effects, intelligent lighting, modern LED effects and a smoke machine, but more importantly than that, my collection of music, built up over 30 years is at the heart of the show.
Knowing how to use the various tracks in my collection to get the majority of the people dancing most of the night is the key to a successful function.
My mission is to make your party a night to remember, from your initial enquiry to the last song, whatever the age group. I have carried out a variety of functions over the years from children’s parties to 65th Wedding Anniversaries, and most things in between! My team and I will dress appropriately for your function and play music for your guests to enjoy, supported with our extensive lighting. My equipment is regularly P.A.T. tested and I carry £10m of public liability insurance plus spare decks, amp and mixer for your piece of mind. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Over the years, I have carried out numerous party functions. From themed nights including Hollywood Films, James Bond, Halloween, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80's, Bad Taste, Grease, Shorts and Shades, Black and White to good old birthday bashes and corporate events, the Phase One Roadshow will become a large part of your evening, whatever theme you have decided upon.
The choice of music played on the night is key, and will ultimately help to make the function successful. The team will always enter into the spirit of the party dressing to match whatever theme you have chosen.
Of all the various bookings we do, nothing beats a good old party, the guests will probably already be half way to having a good time if they are all dressed up and ready to go, making our job even easier!
The disco at your Wedding Reception is one of the most important things to get right for this major occasion.
My responsibility as your DJ is paramount, with many things to consider throughout the night. Firstly, matching the music and volume to the many different age groups that will be present.
I tend to keep the volume down for the early part of the evening to enable the guests to chat and catch up on the family gossip. They have already been told where to sit in Church, where to stand for the photographs and where to sit at the Wedding Breakfast.
The first opportunity for them to get together with their family and friends is at the evening reception and they don’t take to kindly to a DJ who plays his music so loud that they can’t make themselves heard!
I always start the disco by coming out from behind the show, introducing myself, explaining what I intend to do throughout the evening, ask for any requests and then get the Bride and Groom up for their first dance.
After the traditional buffet break, I will turn the music up and get the party going with a blend of Wedding Reception classics and party anthems.
By this time, the guests will be ready to dance for the rest of the night. We finish the evening with a really memorable finale, involving the Bride and Groom with all of their friends and family wishing them on their way.
Myself and Dean wanted to thank you for the wonderful professional job you did as DJ for our wedding reception at Sussex Barn. You kept the atmosphere going even when a lot of the guests started to go home and considering we only had 60 guests in the first place (many of whom were of the older generation!!), you did a brilliant job making sure there was someone on the dance floor all night!
All of the guests we have spoken to since have said how good the disco was and we would be more than happy to recommend you to any of our friends in the future.
We wanted to write to say thanks for DJing at our wedding at the Red Barn. Your set-up was really good, we loved the lighting you had on the night. You were great as a DJ and compere, announcing the cake cutting and bouquet throwing. Your enthusiasm really shone through and I don't remember the dance floor being empty once throughout the night - an impressive feat with only 65 guests!
We wouldn't hesitate for a second to engage you again and will be recommending you in the future to our family and friends.
We just wanted to thank you and your team for the fantastic wedding disco. The floor was packed all evening and we had many comments about how much our guests had enjoyed the disco. We had an absolutely fantastic day.
Thank you so much for providing such a fantastic disco at our wedding on 19th January! We all had a marvellous time and people boogied all night long! You made it so special for us and added magic to our special day! We had great fun, as did our guests! We loved every moment!
Just a quick note to once again thank you for my 60th party last week. You made it special with the little things you did with the trivia around my birthday and the music you played. Everyone has told me they thoroughly enjoyed the night and that you did a good job with the dance music.
We have just got back from our honeymoon and would like to say a big thank you for the fantastic disco at our wedding!
Everybody said how good it was, so thank you for making our wedding as perfect as we had hoped for.
I just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks so much for your contribution to Toms' 21st on Friday night - you and your team did a fantastic job! I must admit I was expecting a couple of decks and a strobe light , but your set up was seriously impressive!! We all had a great evening - must have been a lot of dancing , my feet hurt like mad on Saturday!!
Well what can we say? You did it again!! Yet another fantastic night – I don't know how you make it better every year, we always come away saying “how is Mark going to top it next year?” – and voila! Just like magic you do! Truly fab as always Mark! The dancefloor was full all night. What more can you ask for? Was great to have you with us again, and we can't wait for 2017!
